Finally!

I've been able to play some in my craft room!! It's been way to long since I've posted. We've all been sick. This weather sure isn't helping! In the 30's one day and in the 60's the next. Crazyness! This past Saturday my two youngest and myself competed in our first martial arts competition. We brought home 6 trophies between us! Not bad for our first time! I'm finally posting some pics of things I've been playing around with.

The first pic is paint scraping on watercolor paper. The next few are pictures of paint scraping on muslin. I had never done anything on fabric. This was a lot of fun!! You can't see the sparkle, but in the first and last picture of the muslin pieces I added gold glitter. I did discover that I need more paint! Brighter colors as well. Most of the paints I have are so dark. I do love the metallic colors though! Just need to brighten my art up some.

No new art....

Well, between myself not feeling all that well....and all 3 of my kids being sick.....I've had no time or ambition to create any new art. Bleh! Yesterday was my youngest daughter's 11th birthday! I can't believe how fast she's grown! She, of course, was sick for her bday. What a fun day! lol Taking them to the doctor's today. I hope we ALL feel better soon. I did do something great yesterday! I sent in my demo application to THE ANGEL COMPANY!! Yay!! I'm now an angel! If anyone would like any information, please feel free to get in touch with me anytime! Alright, I'm off to take care of sick kids.

Have a great and artfilled day!

New art posted!

Wow! I've actually got to play two days in a row! Yesterday I was painting paper towels. Today I did something with them! I did a paper fusion. It was fun and messy. Not as messy as painting those paper towels though! lol I created a few ATCs today. It's been great being able to create some things.

Finally, some art to post!

I did get the 4 x 4 done. I hope the recipient likes it! That is an ArtChix image I do believe. I received it in a swap, so I'm not quite sure!

The other pic is of my first ever 4 x 4 page for a Fat Book! The theme was Ol St. Nick. What a gorgeous book it is!! The Santa image is also ArtChix!

What a beautiful day!

It's a bright, beautiful day here in Town Creek!! It's a cold day though! I'm ready for Spring. It will be nice to sit out on the front porch and look out over the pond. Watch the horses run...watch the momma goat and her baby play. Ahhhh....so peaceful. But then....I hear that familiar noise....you know the one I mean....."Mom! He changed the channel!" or "Mom! Tell her it's MY turn!" There goes the peace. hehe I'm so proud..I've cleaned up my craft room!! It still needs some work, but it is SO much better than it was. I need to organize things better. I'm no good at that. I also need to learn to put stuff away when I'm done with it! lol I haven't done any art, sadly. I'm working on a 4 x 4 for a book and need to get it done. I'll post a picture when it's done.
Oh! Since cleaning out my craft room...my STUDIO( I think I'll start calling it that...so much more artsy!)...I've found some items I'd like to sell. I have photos of them on my yahoo photos site. Please take a look and let me know if you'd like anything!! Here's the site addy. http://tinyurl.com/y8b3dg

Thanks and have a wonderful and creative day!

Happy New Year!!!

Well, here it is! 2007! Ready for a new year? Last night my sister-in-law and her husband came over after church. We ate pizza, watched Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and they attempted to teach me to play Rook. I'm still learning! My youngest DD was the only one of my 3 children to make it til midnight. I had her taking pics of everyone. This morning we're eating some cinnamon rolls and later today we'll eat our traditional meal. Pork and sauerkraut, black-eyed peas, some sort of greens and I'll include mashed potatoes and rolls. We eat this every year. We all take at least a bite of everything whether we like it or not. It's tradition! Partly northern and partly southern. We'll probably play more games today and just relax at home. Do you have any traditions? Well, I said I'd list my resolutions....so here they are....
1. Delve more deeply into my art. I really want to be more creative this year. I'll be reading the book 'The Artist's Way' and trying to create a little something every day.
2. Try to lose about 10-15 pounds and get myself into shape by eating healthier and exercising more. Granted, I take karate several days a week, but I need to add to it.
3. Train harder in karate. Time to get serious!
4. Love more and judge less. Learn some patience.

I'm sure I'll add to this as the year goes. There are so many areas in my life that need improvement. Baby steps....

I wish everyone a very Happy New Year. May your year to come be filled with peace, love and all that you need.
